THOUGHTRIPPLES PRIVATE LIMITED, registered in India, with Corporate Identification Number (CIN) U62011KL2025PTC091238, DBA Socyol ("Socyol" or "we" or "us" or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors and users of the Socyol mobile app (the "App"). We want our Customers and their Authorized Users (collectively, our "Customer(s)") and Participants ("Participant(s)") to have a positive experience while using the App. We respect and protect our Customers' and Participants' rights to privacy as set forth in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy applies to the App.
To provide some background to our Customers and Participants, we primarily process personal information on behalf of and in accordance with the instructions of our Customers, who may collect such information from Participants during interview processes or otherwise. In addition, we act as a data controller with respect to some Participant personal information that we make available to our Customers upon authorization from such Participants. We and our Customers collect such information from Participants using the App. We also work with partners, who obtain information from Participants, and offer this information to our Customers. The personal information from the Participant(s) is concurrently and automatically stored and backed up from the App to servers that are under the control and in the possession of our hosting provider, who acts as our sub-processor. It is important to note that the provision of personal information by Customers or Participants is not mandatory, and Customers and Participants can refrain from such provision at any time and still maintain access to the App.
By using the Services, you signify that you have read and understood this Policy. To the extent required under applicable law, you also provide your consent to us collecting, using and disclosing your personal information in accordance with this Policy. Personal information may be used interchangeably with "personal data" throughout this Policy.
For the purposes of the GDPR, Socyol primarily acts as a Processor. This means that we act on behalf of our customers and process data on their instructions. Our customers are the Controllers of the personal data that we process. Please refer to their privacy statements for further details about their processing activities. Depending on the jurisdiction in which we operate, the terms "processor" and "controller" may have different designations, but the concepts behind the terminology are consistent. For example, a processor may be referred to under some regulations as a "service provider" or other terminology and a controller may be referred to as a "business" or other terminology. For simplicity, we use the processor/controller terms throughout this policy.
Socyol does not intend to collect or process, and the Services are not intended to store sensitive and or special categories of data such as health data, political opinions, religious beliefs, and financial information (including bank account and credit card information), social security number, date of birth, driver's license numbers, etc. Socyol may incidentally process information pertaining to a User's race/gender as captured by video.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

For example, we may collect system-related information to be used for system administration purposes, to help diagnose problems, to monitor traffic patterns, to determine which services are used most frequently and to assess site usage. When you access the Services through any co-branded mobile applications or linked services, your personal data will be disclosed to Socyol and/or the relevant co-sponsor where relevant. In that case, the use of such personal data by the co-sponsor company will be subject to the privacy policy of that company, and we are not responsible for nor subject to the co-sponsor's policy regarding their use of the personal data. Accordingly, we encourage you to review the privacy policies and practices of any relevant co-sponsor before supplying any personal information.
The Services may contain links to third party applications or services. These links are provided for your convenience only and Socyol is not responsible for the privacy policies, practices, or content of applications or services owned by others that you may link to or that may be linked from the Services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies and terms and conditions of those applications and services so that you understand how those services collect, use, and share your information. This Policy applies solely to the information that we collect from our Services.

Socyol may utilize artificial intelligence (AI) during interviews. The AI analyses responses to interview questions. More information about our use of AI can be obtained upon request.
We have performed balancing tests for all the data processing we carry out on the basis of our legitimate interests, which we have described above. You can obtain information on any of our balancing tests by contacting us using the details set out later in this notice.
Wherever we rely on your consent, you will always be able to withdraw that consent, although we may have other legal grounds for processing your data for other purposes, such as those set out above. In some cases, we are able to send you direct marketing without your consent, where we rely on our legitimate interests. You have a right to opt-out of direct marketing, or profiling we carry out for direct marketing, at any time. You can do this by following the instructions in the communication where this is an electronic message, or by contacting us using the details set out below.
Where authorized by law, we may share your personal data with our affiliated group companies for marketing, communication, and facilitation of our Services.
Personal data will also be shared with third party service providers, who will process it on behalf of Socyol for the purposes identified above. In particular, we use third party providers for cloud hosting, data storage, audio/visual processing and identity verification.
Where we engage third parties on our behalf, we ensure that we have entered into appropriate agreements to protect your data. Socyol may also disclose personal data and aggregate anonymous information to those businesses, divisions, and units that are affiliated with us (set forth at the end of this Policy).
If one of our business lines or the entire business, or a substantial portion thereof, is acquired or transferred, whether by merger, consolidation or purchase of a substantial portion of assets, we may disclose and transfer your personal data to the acquiring third party. We may also disclose your' personal data to third parties when we believe, in good faith and in our sole discretion, that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to (a) enforce or apply the terms and conditions of the Services; (b) comply with legal or regulatory requirements; (c) protect the rights, property or safety of us, our users or other third parties; or (d) prevent a crime or protect national security. We may also disclose aggregate anonymous information to clients, business partners, merchants, advertisers, investors, potential buyers and other third parties if we deem such disclosure, in our discretion, to have sound business reasons or justification.
We will not retain data longer than is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, by contract or as required by applicable law or regulations. When acting as a processor, data relating to Participants is established by contract between Socyol and the Customer.
Where we process registration data, we do this for as long as you are an active user of our app and in conformance with our record retention policies thereafter.
Where we process personal data for marketing purposes or with your consent, we process the data until you ask us to stop and for a short period after this (to allow us to implement your requests). We also keep a record of the fact that you have asked us not to send you direct marketing or to process your data so that we can respect your request in future.
If you have an account in the app, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
You may have the right to be informed as to the processing of your personal data, to access your data, obtain a copy of the data, port the data, restrict, rectify or object to processing of the data, or request that the data be deleted or to withdraw consent. Users have the right to object to automated decision making and profiling if applicable. Users can also make a complaint to the supervisory authority in the country where they live, work or believe a breach has happened. Socyol has put in place appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorized manner.
We do not knowingly or specifically collect personal information from users under 16 years of age. We do not authorize users under 16 years of age to use the Services.
Socyol reserves the right to change this Policy at any time. In particular, we may modify this Policy to reflect changes in the way we collect, use, or disclose information, or to reflect changes in privacy laws, regulations, and/or industry standards. We encourage Users to review this Policy when using the Services. Where the changes substantially affect the manner in which we handle your data, we will bring them to your attention.
